The Department of Psychology at Regis College is seeking an Adjunct Lecturer for the Spring 2024 semester for an Introduction to Psychology II Lab. This course PS204AX is the lab of the course PS204A and focuses on the foundations of writing in psychology and the development of critical thinking skills. Topics include ethics, writing, evaluation of current topics, career opportunities, and the application of psychology in everyday life. It is a 15-week lab course that meets once a week for 2 hours, with an additional hour of hybrid experiences. Class materials will be provided. Class begins on January 16, 2024, and runs through April 30, 2024.
This course section is taught in person on the Weston, MA campus.
Lecture: Lab course Fridays 9am to 11am and hour of hybrid, and possible additional times to be determined.
Teach PS204AX as an in-person laboratory course and engage with all responsibilities associated with teaching the lab section: grading, office hours, student engagement, collaboration with the other lab instructor, alignment with other course sections, academic assessment.
An earned MA or PHD in Psychology.
Demonstrated evidence of prior teaching experience at the undergraduate level.
Commitment to creating an inclusive classroom learning environment in keeping with the University’s commitment to inclusive excellence in a diverse educational community.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with other Psychology faculty to ensure consistency across class sections.
Demonstrated familiarity with academic assessment.
Familiarity with the learning management system Moodle is preferred, but not required.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands:
Normal office environment, not subject to extremes in noise, odors, etc.
